Is it really boundary issues?

From facebook Âû Journals

It's not really boundary issues we are having as if it is an inherent character flaw or emotional problem. It's that we are violated in order to survive/participate in society/keep a job/graduate/..., we are forced to tolerate things. We tolerate even unhealthy toxic sensory environments that harm us. We eventually lose our self respect. I saw a post the other day about how good self advocates autistic children are and I remember as a child that I was. I think that particularly for autistic people the boundary stuff is for certain contexts only. Because relationships are not something separate from society, we are interdependent. Often these views (e.g. "ignore someone"), at least if generalised, don't take into consideration this interdependence, and that this someone can be your baker, hairdresser, mailman/woman, teacher, doctor, employer, co-worker, neighbours, and cannot be ignored, especially if they have power. So these things work only in specific contexts for some interpersonal relationships that there isn't any dependence other than an emotional attachment.

(Here is the post https://www.facebook.com/103068585252851/posts/269349461958095/ - and some comments to the original post are to the point.)

I think it's more trauma responses for autistic people than actual boundary issues (in the sense NT people can have them and communicate/resolve them differently), or it's a slightly different issue for us, we also communicate differently and tolerate/not tolerate different things.

So you ignore everybody, quit everything you're doing and self-isolate? Is this the solution to "boundary issues"? To keep your self respect? That seems more like ostracisation and exclusion. It's an illusion to think that this is what we ourselves should do. We are manipulated to believe this. We are excluded from society and we call this "setting boundaries".

And we can't expect from autistic people to "set boundaries" the way NT people do. We communicate differently, and we communicate our boundaries differently. And very directly. It doesn't work with NT people. Why are we supposed to communicate our boundaries in the way NT people communicate? No is a no, you don't have to understand it, only to respect it. And it's not conditioned, to be set in a specific way in order to be respected. And it is not respected, this is a violation of our boundaries.

Who ignores who? They ignore you, exclude you, don't appreciate you, don't see you at all and you are manipulated to believe that you ignore them? It's a matter of power and of real consequences.
