"All people are hurt" and "hurt people hurt people" normalises abuse and dismisses victims who are trying to heal and survivors.

1) Not ALL people have trauma in their nervous systems. Stop dismissing the people who have trauma.

(From previous post)

When you say that ALL people "are hurt", and/or "have trauma", especially if you combine it with "hurt people hurt people", you normalise abuse.

Being traumatised or hurt doesn't justify or explain, isn't a reason to abuse, and abuse shouldn't be normalised.

Atypical communication of distress isn't abuse. It's perpetuating narratives of "behaviours".

See more in label Non-hurt people hurt people.

Traumatised people need support to heal.

Trauma is happening in the nervous system of people. It's a wound (literally the Greek word for wound/injury.) No need to mystify it. We are trying to heal our nervous systems.
